Hi Pricilla, I don't know if you will remember me or not, but you helped me paste and shape my Kerry's ears. It was in 1998. Her name is Molly, and she is one of Aileen Santos' dogs. She will be 14 in December, but I fear her days are numbered. The vetrinarian says her kidneys are beginning to fail. I have been reminicing this past week, and wanted to see if I could find you. You were such a great help, and gave me much encouragement with her. She has been a wonderful companion, and I will miss her terribly. My parents are both in their 80's now and my Mom has Parkinson's disease, so I don't think that I will be able to have another dog....one day at a time though....tonight she jumped right up into my car without any indidcation that she was ailing.....Kerry through and through....I looked on your website, and I know Katie was the Kerry I met at your house at the time.....Just wanted to say hi, and let you know that I was ever so grateful for your help....and have never forgotten your kindness....Always, B B

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Saw on GMA this morning the story of a teacher who has a blog that she thought only her family and friends were reading and her entries rose up to bite her. She was suspended with pay from her job in a public school. She was interviewed and maintained that she had been quoted out of context.

So here's my view, the rest of the world seems to think that anything they don't like should not be published and by threatening the author you get them to remove it from their blog/newspaper/video/etc. We do have laws in this country against libel and slander. BUT . . . the requirement for these laws to be enforced is first that the statement is FALSE, in other words a LIE. So often what hurts the complainer the most is that the statement is TRUE. The truth hurts when we know that if we had it to do over we would change our behavior or the outcome.

Perhaps I shouldn't have published everything that I have in this blog but none of it was false nor was it intended to hurt anyone. I have tried to put myself in others shoes but I cannot see it with their view. If I had read these things about myself I would think "shame on me." I should have done that differently. My major complaint has been, over the years, that people don't answer questions. They may answer a question but not the one that was asked. Just listen to a politician.

If you want to test me on this one just ask a question using the comment function and I will answer. Please don't make it trivial and give me time to consider my answer. I get many junk comments which I do not post but I will post a comment on this topic. And I will respond.

First I tried working on a web site was with a club I belonged to and I had my son take the web site as it was and recode it. That means he wrote the code without the help of a web site creator program. He spent 35 hours or so redesigning it and cleaning up the various messy spots. I was supposed to take it over and continue with the updating according to the wishes of the club.

However the members did not understand that all html code can be edited by most web site programs. They were afraid that he would not let them have the site or his work would prevent someone else editing the pages. This is not so, but when people have a little knowledge it can be a dangerous thing. So after many hardware and software problems I was "fired" and someone was hired for $150 a month. The site still looks the same but some things have been improved lately and information is more or less up to date.

The second site I edited (actually I redesigned) was another club that I belonged to. It was updated by me for a long time (years.) Finally I had a phone call from someone who did not understand I could not do what he asked in the time he wanted. We had an ice storm and our house was not connected to electricity or the internet. (Later that day we also lost phone service.) Because a falling tree had taken out only our service we were on the bottom of the list of those needing help. The whole east coast had some amount of problem. I was very stressed because of this and other disagreements I had with the decision makers in the club so quit that "job" because I couldn't seem to get him to understand.

Finally I now edit two club sites as well as my own. The only ongoing problem is the same as all newsletter editors encounter, nobody wants to contribute or, if the do, they procrastinate!

I did volunteer to take over some sites but dealing with the person who is the current webmaster became problematic. That fell through.

I continue to enjoy writing the html and designing sites from scratch. Also I continue to learn about how to write easily edited code. If I want to change something on a web site, on all the pages, all I have to do often is change one line of code. Of course you can change sites written in Dreamweaver and other programs with a minimum amount of work but you would have to up load all of the code where I only have to up load one small piece (one file.)

For those of you interested in finding out more about the html used for your site or another site just put your cursor over a part of the page you are looking at that is not a graphic and right click. You should get a menu that gives you various choices including one that will let you view the "source" code, also called "page source."

Each of the various pages in a site has a different source file. Each file has two segments: the head and the body. The body part is usually the content that is unique to that page. Check a few of mine and get back to me if you would like to know more.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

I was the one woman in the department and was hired to take the place of the Department Head while he was on a sabatical to get his masters degree. During those 7 years that I taught there I had classes that were for the most part 35 students. The students worked in class, did all their homework, and were successful. Also having 7 years of full time experience and many years of substituting was not finantially attractive.
